Time for a stock take. For some extraordinary and fortunate reason almost all the molecules of the atmosphere are effectively transparent to the visible light waves from the sun. Energy travelling at this wavelength passes through them almost as though they are not there. What does happen to all the light waves when they hit the soils, rocks, waters and plant leaves on earth’s surface?
