Sometimes I hear the smooth murmurings of Treasury, Reserve Bank and other officials: “…mmmeasure, measure, murmur, measure ...mmGNP input …GNP outputmm… GNP growth measures..”  What don’t these guys measure?  Slowly it dawns on me. They have little or no measure of pain and joy, less still of me.
