About 700 kilometers from Earth its all action. It is almost entirely space still and so it is still freezing. The few atoms and molecules are far apart. When the high energy solar ‘short waves’ slam into them they explode into pieces. The high-energy waves are transformed into less harmful low-energy 'heat' waves in the collisions and the explosions generate temperatures of up to 1700°C for brief moments.  Am I grateful for life!
