Glaciers expand. Rains cease. Rivers dry up. Lands erode. Dams silt up. And the incandescent light bulb is pure Junk Joules. I replace it with a CFL.  I import wind, clouds, rain and the sun from elsewhere on the Genesis Energy education web site. I set up a rain control that acts independently of the turbine flow gauge – the rains fail to come on cue sometimes and the lake dries up...The Principle of the Conservation of Energy once again sustains us.

Bonus Thought: Genesis Energy is to be commended for creating this education module. It can make an important contribution to the development of a Knowledge Economy. The module would have enhanced value if graphics are archived as they are replaced. They provide excellent examples of PR Spin for Media Studies

Note: March 2006. It is over four years since  Genesis Energy and The NZ Royal Society (A reviewer of the original resource and subject of much Genesis sponsorship) were notified of the serious errors in this education resource. The fundamental flaws remain uncorrected.

Note: 2007 The education module has been pulled from the Internet. A Genesis Energy manager informed me this was because "It was no longer working". 

Note:  2008 Genesis Energy replaced the module with one called ElectroCity which is fundamentally a learning activity promoting Fascism in our young people. As Genesis Energy says, "Hello Tomorrow".

The Renewable Energy and the Sustainable Energy symbols have the same genesis in our capacity to deny change/stewardship. The NZ Sustainble Energy Forum continues to frame much excellent data in similar non-science.
