I continue my journey with the energy waves from the sun. Not far to Earth’s surface now and is it turbulent! For a period I am swept around the globe when I am caught in a ‘jet stream” of air moving at 300 kms per hour. No wonder they call this the troposphere or the “mixing zone”. Masses of warmed air are always on the move to cooler areas.  But how come the winds are so powerful?
