Principle of energy: “When a symbol use works to deny change it will materially alter the potential of the universe (energy) in a way that results in a reduction in the capacity of the symbol user to mirror reality. When a symbol use works for the acceptance of change it will increase the capacity of the symbol user to mirror reality.” Denials of change: The Meridian Energy education module defines both power and energy as Bulk-generated electricity. These redefinitions of the power and energy symbols dominate the communication on the page below. This confusion of energy/power with the forms they can take denies the transformation basis of the Principle of the Conservation of Energy. The only forms of electricity shown are those derived from Bulk-generator sources. Click on illustration above to visit Meridian education module. The power of wind
illustration below
is from Meridian's classroom resource for schools. Children make models
of Bulk-generator wind turbines, with the Meridian Energy on each part.
This effectively frames discussion about optional use of our wind
resource in terms of their product. We end up with advertisements for
Meridian Energy and the Bulk-gen sector on the desks and shelves of
classrooms in the form of models of Bulk-gen wind turbines and general
class montages such as:
This obscures optional uses of the wind such as dwelling scale
generation of electricity as can be seen at this school in Scotland. These micro-turbines do not require a
Bulk-gen
electricity retailer and compete with them for Market share.
