No, the feet are not those of a deceased person, unable to cope with the heat.
On the contrary. The streets were full of people in shorts and designer singlets
celebrating the balmy Cook Strait day. More than once I heard comments to
effect, "Ah,this is global warming, bring it on, make it worse."
